With smartphones, tablets, and computers so easily accessible to nearly just about everyone, finding information on a certain topic is easy. There is no more going to a library to attending classes everything can be found with a quick google search. And on top of that, anyone can put anything on the internet. As the keto diet becomes more and more popular this is becoming even more evident.
I started the keto/low carb diet in 2017 and it was really hard to find any information on the keto diet. When I finally found information, it ended up coming from reputable sources. Many of them were in the medical field, others were just regular people, and the rest of them were fitness fanatics.
After writing about what keto is and giving you a little information on living a keto/low carb lifestyle(in my How do I start keto? post), I wanted to help point you in the right direction if you wanted to learn a little bit more about keto from the people I started learning from. It will certainly help you decide if the keto diet is right for you.
I have compiled a list of a few people/resources I found really knowledgeable and helped me. These are people I follow and listen to on a daily basis.
Matt & Megha – Keto Connect
My number one go-to resource for everyday “regular” people keto inspiration is Keto Connect. This is a blog run by a couple (Matt and Megha) who started keto together. Over the past few years, they have created a Keto-empire. They provide daily looks into their keto experiences through social media. They have a daily post on Instagram and weekly YouTube videos and blog posts. They also provide easy keto recipes from savory dishes to yummy sweet treats.

Lauren Berryhill – Keto Coach Lauren
Another great person to follow is Lauren Berryhill, or more known in the keto-verse as Keto Coach Lauren. She is a certified fitness nutrition specialist and personal trainer. One of the most inspiring things is that she is a wife and mom on top of it all. She makes things super relatable. On her ketogenic journey, she has lost over 100 pounds. Many trainers or nutritionists haven’t had the real-life experience of actually having a lot of weight to lose, so they don’t really understand the struggle that many people have to go through when trying to lose weight. She currently offers a few different coaching services you should check out if you are interested.

Crystal and Robert Sikes – Mrs. and Mr. Keto Savage
The next power couple has both won bodybuilding competitions while staying true to the keto diet. They are Crystal and Robert Sikes, AKA Mrs. and Mr. Keto Savage. They give us a daily look into their lives, from when they are in the midst of a competition prep to their daily struggles of owning a company that find it tough to keep their products in stock for long due to popular demand, the Keto Brick.
Besides the keto brick, they both offer coaching with nutrition help. Along with the previously mentioned Keto Connect, they created a program known as Deeper State Keto. This program gives you the ability to lose fat while maintaining muscle and increasing your energy levels. It helps you to calculate and track your macros as you lower them throughout the process. Robert has a podcast where he brings on people he has trained for body competitions and experts in the field of all things Keto. Crystal is more of the active one on social media. She gives a glimpse into her life on a daily basis from killer workouts, the keto food she eats, to even the struggles she encounters.
