Omega 3 – AKA Fish Oil

A good quality omega-3 is the most supplement to be taking. It’s way too easy to end up having a high level of what’s called omega-6 which you get from eating a lot of meats that are most likely not organic. You can’t always control that you’re not getting good past your Ray’s past you’re finished meat.

When your omega-6 levels go up, people who are doing keto will hit what is referred to as the keto wall after. This keto wall will normally be hit around 60-days. Omega-6 levels go so high up that it will start making you feel crappy. You can combat this. You can do this by consuming a good amount of fish or consume fish oil.

I would recommend having a large amount of fish oil, somewhere in the 3 to 5 thousand milligrams or 3 to 5 grams. Have it before bed. Have it in the morning. Do whatever you need to do to get it in. It’s going to help you out a lot and fish oil is one of the main supplements you want to be focusing on with the ketogenic diet.

Magnesium

Magnesium is the next supplement that you really need to be having as much as you can, again talking about those minerals, so sodium magnesium keeping that stuff elevated it makes a very big difference.

Collagen

Collagen has been a trendy thing in the keto community, but for good reason. People are promoting keto collagen a lot because collagen actually helps you feel better. Another good thing is that it doesn’t get converted into that gluconeogenesis pathway quite as easily the one, you’re probably wondering exogenous ketone supplements honestly.

NOT Exogenous Ketones

At the moment I do not recommend exogenous ketones. I’ll explain.

Think of it this way, on the keto diet you’re already encouraging your body to create ketones from its own fat. So, as we have our own fat getting converted and used as fuel… what’s going to happen if you add exogenous ketones through a supplement?

They’re going to go to the front of the line which is going to stop your body from producing ketones from fat. This results in slowing yourself down, so I don’t recommend exogenous ketones I don’t think they have much of a place. Unless you are just trying to do massive calorie restriction and you’re trying to add ketones in there just to satiate you. That’s one thing that exogenous ketones are good for in my opinion, they do keep you satiated. But keep in mind that they are going to slow down ketone production in your body.

In short, you want to take A LOT of omega 3, or fish oil, to combat the potential high omega 6s you are consuming.
