Since it isn’t non-GMO it can certainly affect your health.

A Few Words About Carbs On Keto Diet – Salad Dressing on Keto

You’ll notice that I’ve listed the net carbs for most of the salad dressing brands above. Why list out the net carbs you ask… that’s because all carbohydrates are not counted the same.

There’s what we call simple carbs that will spike insulin levels and the other type of carbs are called complex carbs. The most common simple carb would be sugar.

Complex carbohydrates contain fiber and/or starch. You’ll want to lean on the fiber-rich complex carbs most of the time on the keto diet.

When calculating net carbs, you will subtract the fiber from the total carb count. This provides you with a number that can be calculated to find your net carb intake.

It is important to keep the number of net carbs as low as possible so your blood sugar levels are not affected by what you are eating 

What makes a salad dressing keto friendly?

It is easy to find out if something is keto friendly or not. It’s is a pretty simple concept and one that can really be rolled over into other foods.

You want to make sure the salad dressing won’t have a major effect on your insulin levels.

Everyone will have a different threshold of carbs that will have a big enough effect on blood sugar levels to kick someone out of ketosis(if you are not sure what this means, head over to our keto basics resources).

How many carbs are too many on the keto diet?:

One of the general rules of thumb would be around 20 grams of net carbs in a single day of eating. Going over this is never a good idea when trying to produce the necessary ketones during ketosis.
